RD PTO, Holiday, & Sick Time Policy

Paid Time Off

Paid Time Off (PTO) is to be used for vacation, holidays, sick days, and any paid other time off.  Defining PTO this way allows for maximum flexibility for Nourish team members.  We do ask that employees reschedule any clients they would normally see during their time off. If you have questions about how best to do this or need help with the process, please contact a Clinical Quality Manager to discuss.

Earning PTO

PTO will be earned at a consistent rate per client seen. What counts as a normal work week will vary by employee depending on their usual workload, so an RD seeing 25-30 clients per week will earn more PTO than an RD seeing 20-25 clients per week.

PTO earned will be calculated every two weeks on your timesheet based on the number of clients seen. For every 12 hours of occurred sessions, you will earn one hour of PTO. Your timesheet will show PTO earned in that period, PTO carried over from the previous year, PTO used, and remaining PTO available.  We will describe PTO as “units”.  Each unit of PTO earned will be paid at the employee’s session rate.

Example:

  • If you see 25 clients weekly during your 2-week pay period, your total clients seen for the pay period is 50 and your earned PTO is 4.2 units (50 divided by 12).  If that remains consistent over the year, you would earn 100 units of PTO or 4 weeks of PTO (25 units per week).  This means you could take a week’s vacation and use 25 units of PTO and keep your pay consistent. You could use the rest for holidays, another vacation, or for any other reason you need or want time away from work.

  • If you see 20 clients weekly you would earn 3.3 units of PTO during the pay period (40 hours divided by 12).  That would be 80 units earned per year — 4 weeks of PTO at 20 hours per week.

  • Our work weeks are not exactly the same each week, so your earned PTO will vary from pay period to pay period.

Unused PTO

PTO that has not been used by the end of the calendar year can be carried over indefinitely, but there is a cap of 80 hours of PTO. Nourish does not pay out PTO if it is not used unless required by your state of residence.

How to Use PTO

Request PTO in JustWorks.  Be sure to request PTO only for hours that are available to you in your current balance and for a date in the future. PTO requested in excess of your current balance OR for a date in the past will be denied.

Note: JustWorks does not allow PTO to be requested or used on weekend days. Please ensure all requests are entered for Monday-Friday.
