Initial Licensing Requirements
Application and Fees
To apply for a new license, submit a completed application along with any fees requested.
You must also submit with your application:
Proof of a current, valid Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
Verification of Licensure from any state in which you hold or have ever held licensure
Verification of Licensure, transcript, and verification from supervised practice program must be sent as official records directly from the issuing agency to the Board office for all applications. The Board may receive them via email (tjeanmarie@lbedn.org) or mail (LBEDN; 37283 Swamp Road, Suite 3B; Prairieville, LA 70769).
Step by Step Application Guide
Before you may legally work as a dietitian in the state of Louisiana, you must apply for licensure to the Louisiana Board of Examiners in Dietetics and Nutrition. Apply online.
You will be instructed to create an account with the Louisiana Board of Examiners in Dietetics and Nutrition.
Pay all necessary fees and scan all required attachments.

Dietitian certifications expire on June 30th of every year.

Step by Step Application Guide
Your Louisiana license as a dietitian/nutritionist (LDN) is renewable every year. You must renew online.
You must also complete 15 hours of continuing education each year in dietetics and nutrition and submit this at the time of your license renewal.
