Initial Licensing Requirements
Application and Fees
To apply for a new license, submit a completed application along with the fee of $75.
You must also submit with your application:
Official license verification from states and jurisdictions in which the applicant holds or has ever held a professional license of any type.
Proof of a current, valid Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

Step By Step Guide

Please note: Montana is a "red state" so you must have a state license to see patients in Montana. In addition to this, a state license, is required in order to become in network with our Montana based insurance companies which will expand coverage to patients across the country! If you have held Montana licensure in the past and would like to renew it, your renewal expenses will be fully reimbursed.
Access the Website
Start the Application Process
Click on “Apply for License”.
Create Your Account
Fill out the required account creation information.
Under Contact Type → Contact Details, select “Applicant”.
Enter the required information, including using “Nourish” as the business name and your personal address.
Submit the form.
You will see a confirmation page stating “Congratulations. You have successfully registered an account.” and receive a confirmation email.
Begin a New Health Care License Application
Once logged in, click on “Apply for a new Health Care License”.
Search for “nutritionist”.
Under Medical Examiners, select “Nutritionist Application”.
Complete the Applicant Details
Answer Citizenship and Applicant Questions
MT Licensure Information
Document Other State Licensures
Complete Personal Questions
Fill out the Personal Questions section and click “Continue”.
Upload Required Attachments
In the Attachment field, upload your proof of registration with CDR.
Review and Submit Your Application
Review your application details.
Click “Continue” to proceed to the fees page.
On the fees page, click “Continue” to make your payment.
Once payment is submitted, a receipt will be emailed to you. Click " Done"
Final Steps and Monitoring Application Status
A “Conditions of Approval” page will display any outstanding documentation required.
Montana does not require verifications from other states unless:
You hold a foreign license, or
Any of your licenses have been disciplined.
Please refrain from submitting state verifications unless they meet these criteria. If state verifications are needed, you will receive an email with specific instructions.
If additional documentation is needed, log back into the application. Click your application number (displayed in blue) to upload the required documents.
Your application status will show as “unmet” until processing is complete (approximately 10–15 business days).
No action is required regarding the NPDB Self-Query.
Expect a follow-up email in 10–15 days with the final status of your application and any further instructions.
At this time the Montana Board does not have continuing education requirements for dietitians.
Note: To request reimbursement for this license including the bonus, go to Ramp -> funds -> Montana License -> and manually create the reimbursement in order to add $25 to the cost of the license itself
