What if I am currently receiving care from a provider who is now out of network?
Transition of Care
Applies if you are currently receiving care from a provider in your current health plans network (may not be in Aetna’s network). You must already be under treatment for an acute medical or behavioral condition. You must apply in writing no later than 90 days after the effective date of your coverage (January 1, 2025)
Prescriptions
Since there is a carrier transition, please make sure that you have enough of your medication through the end of January so you can use January to make sure that your pharmacy has the updated enrollment information.
Appointments
If you have any appointments in January, first verify that your doctor is in the Aetna Network, then share your new member ID with your provider as soon as you have the information
Prior Authorizations / Pre-Authorizations
If you or your dependent(s) have a prior authorization in place for a current prescription or upcoming medical procedure, you must obtain a new prior authorization from Cigna in order to continue filling your prescription or to obtain future treatment/services
Employee Action Required: Notify Your Provider
If you or your dependent(s) have an existing prior authorization in place, please inform your provider that you will need to obtain a new authorization under Aetna
