Ongoing RD Expectations
The following are ongoing expectations for all Nourish dietitians. Please carefully review and ensure continuous compliance for optimal patient and provider experience.
Make sure the following are up to date:
All profile fields: your bio, specialties, styles, age range, and languages (to optimize patient matching).
Your calendar availability and scheduling settings (to optimize scheduling) — give as much availability as possible! It helps us build your practice.
Review Intake Paperwork
Review patient intake paperwork to come prepared for the visit. Understand their reason for visit / goals and medical history to minimize duplicative questions in session.
Review physician referrals prior to the initial session to understand why the patient was referred to Nourish. Note: reason for referral may be different from the conditions the patient self-selected during the sign up process.
Transfer the patient to another provider if you feel you are unable to provide adequate care for whatever reason.
Update Appointment Status
Update the status and duration of the appointment by the end of the work day.
Complete, Sign, and Lock Chart Note
Notes should be completed and signed within 48 hours.
Be sure to fill out Appointment Note Summary section to email any discussed follow-up notes and resources to the patient.
Use Nourish Tech with Patients
Encourage patients to download and use the Nourish app or web portal. Use the relevant patient-facing features in the provider portal yourself.
Care Coordination
Clear communication between providers creates a unified treatment approach. Review best practices here.
Monitor Patient Communications
Respond to patient communications within one business day.
Monitor Nourish Announcements
Stay up to date on Nourish updates. Be sure to check Slack and email every day that you are seeing patients.
Slack - announcements and updates will be posted in #general channel
Email - Nourish Newsletter is sent out weekly and includes announcements and updates. The clinical support team will reach out with requests via email, this includes chart note reviews, CAQH needs, information for licensing, etc.
Leverage the Nourish Community
Do research as relevant and utilize Nourish resources.
Discuss patient cases in CRCs and #clinical Slack channels.
Reach out to your CQM to ask questions and help improve your care.
Transfer the patient to another provider if it’s not a good fit.
General Expectations
Maintain and keep in good standing dietetic registration with CDR, state licensure required for credentialing, and additional state licensures for any red states in which you see clients.
If opting-in for full-time benefits, maintain a caseload goal of at least 15 and enough availability to meet this minimum.
Have ownership over your practice! Retain patients well, bring patients to Nourish.
Maintain professionalism on all internal and external calls. Be on time with video on for all scheduled appointments/meetings. Conduct sessions and meetings in a HIPAA compliant environment with an appropriate background and dress.
Since Nourish bills for Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT), all interventions must align with MNT guidelines and remain within the scope of practice for a Registered Dietitian, regardless of any additional credentials.
NOTE: Nourish sessions are to be conducted only for the scheduled patient. Multiple individuals cannot be treated in one appointment. Each patient needs their own separate profile, session, chart note, etc.
